Use Cases

Your Data Has Dimensions. Your Platform Should Too.

Customers, products, regions, departments, time periods: every organization structures data in hierarchies. Most analytics platforms ignore this and force you to flatten everything into rows and columns. Ardello is built for the real shape of your data.

Enterprise Reporting & Analysis

Every company reports sales by region, costs by department, revenue by product line. These are dimensional queries, and they are the bread and butter of business analytics. SQL-based platforms handle them by joining flat tables, which gets slow and brittle as hierarchies deepen. Ardello models these structures natively: define a product hierarchy once, and every report, every dashboard, every aggregation uses it automatically. No duplicate logic, no hand-coded rollups, no performance degradation as the tree grows.

Sales by region, costs by department, revenue by product line: every organization slices data along hierarchies. Ardello models these natively, delivering fast, governed analytics without flattening your data into SQL tables.

Financial Planning & Analysis

Financial planning and analysis workloads are inherently multidimensional: accounts, cost centers, time periods, scenarios, currencies. This is exactly what OLAP cubes were designed for. Vertical SaaS platforms in FP&A (Pigment, Mosaic, Drivetrain, Planful) are each rebuilding cube engines from scratch because no modern, embeddable MDX engine exists. Ardello fills that gap: a production-grade MDX engine that FP&A platforms can embed rather than build.

Embedded Analytics

Embedded analytics vendors face a recurring pain: true per-tenant data isolation. ClickHouse's own documentation says per-tenant databases "do not scale to 1000s of tenants." Druid clustered deployment takes 7 minutes to bring all pods up. Ardello commissions a dedicated OLAP database per tenant in under a second: real isolation, not row-level security over a shared cluster. For ISVs serving regulated industries (healthcare, finance, government), this is not optional.

<1s to provision a new tenant database

White-label OLAP with true per-tenant isolation. Each customer gets a dedicated database instance, provisioned in seconds. No noisy-neighbor problems, no shared cluster compromises.

EU Sovereign Analytics

EU sovereignty regulations are creating concrete demand for analytics infrastructure that stays within EU jurisdiction. DORA (effective January 2025), EHDS (effective March 2025), and the AI Act (phasing through August 2026) all push compute into EU-resident infrastructure. Ardello deploys on any cloud or on-premise infrastructure, giving organizations full control over data residency without sacrificing performance.

Deploy on EU-resident infrastructure. Full data sovereignty compliance for DORA, EHDS, and AI Act requirements. No data leaves the jurisdiction.

Migration

Replacing SSAS?

Microsoft has not officially deprecated SSAS Multidimensional, but every dollar of investment goes into Tabular, DAX, and Fabric. There is no Microsoft cloud-native path that preserves MDX semantics. Fabric does not support SSAS Tabular, let alone Multidimensional. The remaining installed base (concentrated in financial services, insurance, manufacturing, and government) rebuilds reluctantly and pays a premium for fidelity replacements. A typical mid-sized cube migration runs $500K–$2M over 6–12 months. Ardello offers the only fidelity migration path that keeps MDX native and moves workloads to the cloud without rewriting queries.
