A Complete OLAP Stack
Engine, modeling, reporting, and delivery, all delivered over WebSocket. No middleware. No assembly required.
In-Memory OLAP Engine
Ardello's engine is a ground-up C++ implementation of a multidimensional in-memory OLAP database. It processes native MDX queries (the same language used by SSAS, Excel pivot tables, and hundreds of enterprise BI deployments) without translating to SQL. The result is near-instant round-trip latency on analytical queries, even with hundreds of concurrent users.
The industry is rediscovering what Ardello was built on: semantic models matter. Other vendors are retrofitting semantic layers onto SQL-based platforms. Ardello starts from semantics: multidimensional models are not an add-on, they are the engine. And as AI agents increasingly rely on governed semantic layers to produce trustworthy answers, that starting position becomes a structural advantage.
Report Builder & Design Studio
The Report Builder provides drag-and-drop report creation with a clear separation between data models and report layouts. Design Studio lets you build pixel-perfect reports with contextual modeling tools (dimensions, hierarchies, calculated members) all within the platform. No external tooling required.
MDX is powerful, but hard to write by hand. Report Maker generates MDX automatically from drag-and-drop interactions. You get the ease of Power BI with the full analytical power of a native MDX engine underneath. No MDX knowledge required.
Dev / Test / Prod Environments
Ardello treats BI artifacts like code. Fork a production cube in under a second to create a development branch. Make changes, test them in an isolated environment, then promote through a governed pipeline to production. This is the same workflow software engineers use with Git, applied to cubes and reports at the storage-engine layer.
WebSocket Delivery
Analysis results stream from the engine directly to the browser over persistent WebSocket connections. There is no middleware tier, no REST API to build, no connection pool to tune. This architecture eliminates an entire class of infrastructure cost and latency. For embedded analytics, it means your customers see results in real time without backend development.
Cloud-Native Deployment
Commission a new OLAP database in seconds. Decommission it when it's no longer needed. Ardello's cloud orchestrator handles provisioning, auto-scaling, and multi-tenant isolation across AWS, Azure, GCP, or on-premise infrastructure. Each tenant gets a physically isolated database instance, not a row-level security policy on a shared cluster.
Data Governance
Every model and report is version-controlled. Role-based access controls who can edit, who can view, and who can promote changes to production. Audit trails track every modification. This is enterprise-grade governance built into the platform from day one, not a compliance layer bolted on after the fact.
Most BI platforms bolt on governance after the fact. Ardello was architected for it from day one: dev/test/prod environments at the engine level, semantic models fully separated from the report layer, and reusable dimensions shared across cubes. Governance is not a feature; it is the foundation.
